Putzmeister America, Inc. Develops Specialty Hopper for Placing Soil with its Telebelt® Conveyors
STURTEVANT, WI (January 1, 2007) – To help contractors efficiently place dirt on job sites, Putzmeister America has designed a new soil hopper for use with its truck-mounted Telebelt conveyors.Dirt, earth and other related soils can be conveniently dumped into the new Putzmeister hopper via a front-end loader. The steel hopper features a large three cubic yard capacity to help maintain a continuous flow of material between loads. In addition, a wide 72” x 120” top opening prevents spillage, and four adjustable legs can be altered from 83” to 98” heights to meet varying job site conditions.
A steel grate prevents oversized material from entering the hopper, and a standard agitator and vibrator prevent sticky soils from bridging in the hopper and slowing down the material flow. To better guide material onto the feed conveyor, Putzmeister’s optional side loading channels are further recommended. Once the soil reaches the main conveyor belt, the operator can maneuver the Telebelt’s boom to attain the precise point of placement to avoid any further handling of materials.
“Our new soil hopper is similar in design to our proven reliable rock hopper,” says Bill Carbeau, Sector Manager – Telebelts® and Special Products at Putzmeister America. “With its ability to place up to 400 tons of dirt an hour, the Telebelt and this application specific hopper should help contractors realize increased productivity and reduced labor costs.”
Information about the company’s Telebelt product line is available on a new DVD titled “Telebelts: Versatility in Motion”, which can be sourced via the company’s web site at www.putzmeister.com.
