Putzmeister Strengthens High-pressure Trailer Pump Line
BSA Series pumps offer the highest outputs and pressures on the marketPutzmeister America announces both improvements and additions to its BSA Series of large, high-pressure trailer pumps. The additions give customers more choice between models and extra features for increased operating convenience and efficiency.
To be unveiled at the World of Concrete 2000, two new trailer pumps include the BSA 1407-D and 2109-D models. Improvements to other pumps in the line include a rod/piston changeover system on the 2100 and 14000 models. All six models are now available in diesel or electric versions and feature heavy-duty tandem axles.
According to Bill Carbeau, sales manager for Putzmeister America, "These high-pressure trailer pumps are designed to handle the toughest concrete mixes. This includes pumpable consistencies down to zero slump – and delivering up to 2.5-inch (63 mm) aggregates."
The six pumps in the BSA Series fall into three performance levels. Two 1400 model pumps are lightweight, easily towed and deliver concrete up to 300 feet (91 m). Two 2100 model pumps are equipped to handle difficult pumping jobs up to 600 feet (182 m). The two top-of-the-line 14000 model pumps are the most powerful units on the market. Equipped with 510-horsepower (373 kW) Caterpillar diesel engines, they deliver concrete well over 1,500 feet (457 m) vertically.
World Record-breaking Output
The BSA Series pumps deliver output from 93 to 260 cubic yards an hour (71 – 200 cubic meters/hr) with pressures from 1,537 to 3,190 psi (106 - 220 bar). These are the highest trailer pump outputs and pressures in the industry. In fact, these Putzmeister trailer pumps have set both the 6,610-foot (2,015 m) horizontal and 1,745-foot (532 m) vertical world pumping records.
Additional exclusive Putzmeister pump features include the field-proven S-Valve, hard-chromed concrete cylinders, rugged hopper with standard vibrator and smooth, free-flow hydraulics on all but the 1407-D model.
Carbeau added, "High-pressure trailer pumps continue to grow in popularity as the number of high-rise construction jobs increase. Our improved BSA Series complements the Putzmeister separate placing boom program as well as our shut-off and diversion valve product offerings."
Additional trailer pump applications include long-distance conveying, tunnel construction and different high-pressure specialty jobs. A new BSA Series trailer pump product catalog is also available from the company.
